Parent, Teacher & Friends Association
Abbotskerswell PTFA wishes you a very warm welcome to our school.
The following information will hopefully give you a very brief overview of who we are and what we do.
The PTFA has been an integral part of school life for many years, it has raised many thousands of pounds that have been spent on resources and experiences that help to enhance our children's education and to improve the schools facilities.
Most recently we have purchased new screens for 3 of the classrooms and a bank of iPads through our Hare & Tortoise Project and we have also invested into the development of the EYFS and Key Stage 1 Outside Area.
All parents automatically become members of the PTFA when their child starts school, in addition to this we also have a formal committee of elected members who meet several times each term, we welcome everybody at these meetings.
Information regarding events etc is sent home in a variety of ways, letters sent home with your children including, notes on the Friday newsletter, via our Facebook group and occasionally on notices and blackboards around the school.
We run a busy calendar of events which include a Summer Fair, May Day celebrations, Firework night BBQ and school discos.
Parents and family members can get involved in what we do in a variety of ways, from volunteering at one of our events, assisting with planning and event organisation, to baking cakes for our ever popular tea rooms that make regular appearances!
If you feel able to help out in any way if or you would like to find out more information about what we do please don't hesitate to speak to a committee member, if you are unsure who to chat to I am sure the School Office or Mr Martin could point you in the right direction. We also have an email address that is checked regularly: abbotskerswell.ptfa.chair@gmail.com.
Thanks for taking the time to read a little about us, we hope you feel able to be involved in helping to make a difference to our children's experience at school.
