The Kingfisher Haka
During our dance unit of learning this half term, we have studied the tribal dance 'The Haka'. We have learnt a little of its' background and why and who performed it. We began by learning a version of The Haka performed by the New Zealand rugby team, looking at the style of repetitive movements used.
We then broke into small groups and came up with our own moves, came together as half a class where we had 'mini teachers' leading us and put together (taking everyone's ideas) half of a dance. The following week we all learnt both dances and put them together to produce our own Kingfisher Haka. We hope you enjoy watching it!
